this morning at 11am, adrian will have his nephrostomy tubes (the stents acting as back up for his kidneys) removed. we are lucky as dr. laquaglia (adrian's surgeon in december) will be doing the procedure. these tubes have been an open field for infection and a general nuisance, so we are happy to see them go.
we are still not in the clear with adrian's infections and it hasn't been an easy week, but fortunately, adrian broke his trend of spiking fevers late in the night on saturday, which is a huge relief.
we will continue to keep you posted with updates on the procedure and, hopefully, more good news in general.

and good news we have indeed: the stents are out! there is also word adrian may be released tomorrow--fingers crossed.
