thank you for continuing to check in on adrian and sending love and strength his (and, therefore, our) way.

after over four weeks now (hard to believe), more tests than we can count, and consultations with experts in pediatric oncology and neurology, our team of doctors is now sufficiently convinced that it is indeed acute ifosfomide poisoning that has acted on adrian's neuromuscular system (neurotoxicity). the severe side effects of this continue unabated and efforts to treat it continue to be complicated by the fact that it is such a rare reaction to the chemo that the doctors (experts at sloan and the other leading pediatric cancer centers they have reached out to) have never seen it before.

the team at sloan has recommended that we transfer adrian to a rehabilitation institute where they are better equipped to care for him and where he has a greater chance of recovery, which we remain hopeful of. we are in the process of looking at facilities and are currently leaning toward blythedale children's hospital in westchester county, new york, but are trying to work out the logistics. we hope to do this as soon as possible. we will update when we have made a decision or there is any other news.
